Reading reflection

The first section I found to be pretty interesting.  The prediction was that by 2020, network inoperability would be perfected.  In my opinion I do think mobile communtication will become extremely available around the globe and much cheaper.  Although I don’t think it will be perfected by 2020 and I don’t think it will be available anywhere on the globe.  I tend to agree with Bruce Edmond’s response, “Evolution of internet architecture will remove any chance for a ‘perfected’ or ’smooth’ future.”

Scenario 2 was not as interesting but it had a number of different responses and views from all different people.  I agree that “English will be well on the way to being the world’s most popular second language (Hal Varian)”  Its a very popular language all over Europe, most Europeans can speak some english.  China is a growing superpower so Mandarin has the same potential as English to be a second language.  Its also hard to tell, languages are constantly changing and evolving as the years go by.

  1. i agree i dont think scenario 2 was as good, it was all about language and that wasnt anywere as important as if theres going to be internet on a global scale in 2020. but i do think this is very possible by the year 2020 if we can have wireless through citys or colleges we can have internet on a global scale in 15 years. and alone with the language thing why cant you just choice your language before you log in.
